A field of view that lets you focus 100% on the ball.
Why Eyewear

Eyewear is not a fashion item —
it is a seatbelt for your eyes

Let's be direct: pickleball is a sport with a high rate of eye injuries.

On a court about half the size of a tennis court, players hit a hard ball at close range.

In net-side volley exchanges, there is no time to react and the ball hits the face.

Corneal abrasions, retinal detachment, intraocular bleeding — serious cases have been reported.

20%
Even among pros, protective-eyewear use sits around this level. Many play unprotected.
61%
One survey found that even among wearers, this share use everyday glasses that can shatter dangerously on impact.
Lost eyesight does not come back.
That is exactly why purpose-built, impact-resistant eyewear belongs in your kit as the first pair.

Everyday sunglasses and glasses shatter and scatter under a strong impact.

Fragments or the frame can pierce the eye — a dangerous secondary injury.

Purpose-built eyewear is made of polycarbonate; it does not shatter and protects the eye.

This material has over ten times the impact resistance of ordinary lenses.

Doubles is especially risky, with several players standing near the net.

The assumption that it is safer than tennis is the most dangerous of all.

To keep playing the game you love for years, choose your first pair.

Pain → Solution

That sunglasses frustration?
One pair solves all of it

The reason you gave up on eyewear is probably somewhere in this list.

Catch the yellow ball, crisp and clear.

They slip down my nose when I run, and I keep pushing them back up.

Nose-pad-less designHeld by the cheekbones and around the ears — they stay put even through hard footwork.

They slide off when I sweat and I lose focus.

Side-pad supportSupported at the temples, which sweat affects far less — no slipping even when you perspire.

Sweat and breath fog the lens, and my view vanishes in an instant.

Anti-fog coating + airflowAn anti-fog treatment, plus the pad-less structure that lets air escape.

Nose pads dig in — it hurts and leaves redness.

Zero load on the noseNo weight rests on the nose bridge, so it stays comfortable for hours.

I hate the marks and discoloration nose pads leave.

No marks leftNothing touches the nose, so there are no marks or darkening.

Sunscreen and makeup smudge and rub off.

Zero-friction designNo pad rubbing, so you can play without worrying about makeup.

Indoor gyms are dark, and dark lenses make it hard to see.

Photochromic (indoors)In low light the lens turns near-clear, for a bright view up to 90% transmission.

Outdoors is so bright I lose the ball.

Photochromic (outdoors)It darkens in response to UV, cutting glare.

Switching between an indoor and an outdoor pair is a hassle.

One pair, all weatherIndoor, outdoor, cloudy or sunny — one pair covers it all.

The lens tint makes the yellow ball hard to see.

Pink x yellow contrastThe pink lens makes the yellow ball stand out with a crisp outline.

Nose pads create a blind spot, so I cannot use my peripheral vision.

Wide, blind-spot-free viewNothing blocks your view, so you read the ball and your opponent across a wide field.

They do not fit my face and slip or sit up.

Beta-titanium 3D fitA metal core lets you bend and fine-tune the fit to your own bone structure.

My eyesight is poor, but playing in everyday glasses scares me.

Prescription inner readyA dedicated adapter holds prescription lenses safely.

Wind-dried eyes and dust make outdoor practice tough.

Wide-protect designThe lens covers a wide area around the eyes, blocking wind, dust and small insects.

Side light from night games or indoor lighting bothers me.

WP wide coverageIt wraps to the sides, cutting side glare for a clear view.

Heavy eyewear tires me out over long sessions.

Lightweight fitWith no load on the nose, your face feels little strain even after hours.

These frustrations are not unique to pickleball — they are shared with tennis and other racket sports, and outdoor training.
One pair gives you clearer sight and peace of mind across every sport.

Technology

Why it is this comfortable and clear

Explained by AirFly's maker, ZYGOSPEC Co., Ltd. (Sabae, Fukui, Japan)

AirFly is developed end-to-end in Sabae, the region that makes about 90% of Japan's eyewear frames.

We solved the reasons people do not want to wear sports eyewear — at the structural level.

Rethinking the design: remove the nose pads

A side-pad structure gently grips both cheekbones. With no load on the nose, the causes of pain, slipping and marks are eliminated at the root. It is a proprietary structure with patents and design registrations in Japan and abroad.

The structure itself keeps the lens from fogging

With no nose pads, a natural air path opens between your face and the lens. Add an anti-fog coating and it resists fogging even in hot, humid Asian conditions — clear vision even in stuffy indoor heat.

The pink lens makes the yellow ball pop

Clear pink heightens the complementary contrast with the yellow pickleball. The ball's outline and depth stand out, so you judge its path faster. Visibility translates directly into accuracy.

The tint shifts automatically with UV

The photochromic lens adjusts its density to the light: near-clear indoors at up to 90% brightness, darker outdoors to cut glare. It blocks 99%+ UV at all times, easing eye fatigue.

A beta-titanium core fits any bone structure

Metal cores run through the side pads and temples. Bend them by hand to fine-tune to your face width and ear angle. Optimized for Asian bone structure, it stays comfortable for hours.

Interview

Why I chose this pair

A review based on the athlete's own impressions and opinions.

Kei Sawaki

Just by seeing better,
my game changes this much

Pickleball is a sport with fast balls and a heavy load on the eyes.

So I helped create the exact pair I really wanted.

Q

Why did you want to make your own edition?

A

The scariest moments in a match are when the ball is hard to see. So I genuinely wanted to make the pair that lets me see the ball best.

Q

What did you ask the maker for?

A

I asked them to make the yellow ball crisp and to never let it fog. This pink lens and anti-fog coating are the answer to those two wishes.

Q

Why were you so particular about a pink lens?

A

Through pink, the yellow ball seems to float up. I read its path faster, and I really feel my mistakes have dropped.

Q

How well does the anti-fog actually work?

A

Even in a gym, even when I sweat, it does not fog. That split-second panic of a whited-out view is gone. That is huge.

Near-clear vision indoors.
Q

Does it stay put while you play?

A

With no nose pads, it does not slip even when I slide. No need to readjust, so I can focus 100% on the ball.

Q

Is one pair enough for indoor and outdoor?

A

It is enough. Bright indoors, naturally darker outside. Not having to swap is so easy.

Q

What is nice for women and juniors?

A

No marks on the nose, and makeup does not smudge. You can focus on play without worrying about looks.

Q

A word for those not yet wearing eyewear?

A

You only have one pair of eyes. To enjoy the sport for years, please get one. Your sight — and your peace of mind — will change.

FAQ

Answering your pre-purchase questions

Q

Honestly, it feels a bit pricey. Is it worth it?

A

Yes. It reflects end-to-end production in Sabae — the world's top eyewear region — and the value of a patented structure. One pair handles indoor and outdoor and protects your eyes. Think of it as an investment in continuing the sport for years.

Q

Will it last? What if it breaks?

A

It is built for long-term use. Genuine parts like pads and temples can be bought individually online and replaced yourself to refresh it. Reassuring after-care.

Q

Can I use it for tennis or other sports?

A

Absolutely. It suits tennis, badminton, outdoor running and more — protecting your eyes from wind, dust and UV while keeping your view clear in any sport.

Q

I am worried it will not fit my face.

A

A beta-titanium core lets you fine-tune the width and ear angle by hand. It is optimized for Asian bone structure, and you can try it on and get a fitting at the official store and retailers.

Q

My eyesight is weak — can I use it with a prescription?

A

Yes. It supports a prescription inner adapter (sold separately), so you can judge the ball accurately, close to your naked-eye feel. See the official shop for details.
